Best, inexpensive Zoom lense to use for my daughters Softball team (Pentax *istD)?

I just purchased a Pentax *istD camera with the stock 18mm – 55mm zoom lense.. I need a longer lense. What would be the best to use for Softball action pictures. I’m looking for nice tight action shots PLUS affordability..

I bought a used Tamron 70-300mm on ebay for the *istds for $65!
I really like it.
They’re fairly reasonably priced new as well.

It’s not build specifically for the *istds, but will autofocus and work with all autoexposure modes. That’s true of just about any Pentax mount autofocus lens.

I used it for my daughters soccer games and son’s baseball games and came away with some great shots.

You’ll have to bump up the ISO quite a bit especially on overcast days, and either use the action mode or shutter priority with the shutter speed set pretty high.
