Black Softball
My finger is swollen and blue after a hitting it with a softball ball at the batting cages?
I had a softball hit my thumb a little than 48 hours ago. Since then it has gotten VERY swollen and is blue/black on the nail and on both sides of the finger. I image is probably because of the blood inside. I have been putting ice and keeping it elevated, however the swelling has not gone down at all. I am just worried it might be something more serious, or does it usually take longer to start healing and going back to its normal size and color?

You have two choices. You could take the advice of a stranger on Yahoo Answers who can not see you or examine you or you could go see a doctor who is trained in issues like this.
I suggest seeing the doctor.
