Why Your Cars Tyres Are Black
As new cars develop we start to see complex technologies come to light, as well as that we are starting to see a whole to shape to cars. But one thing that has not changed since the development of the first ever car is the colour of tyres. Whatever country you go to around the planet you will see a motor that has black tyre. This has confused me for years so recently I made my way around the car and tyre manufacturers to ask them the reason why?
After my thorough information find I have come to the idea that tyres are always black because of one of two reasons.
1) First and foremost tyres are specifically created to be black for a reason. The black colouring is simply carbon powder which is added to the rubber. The Carbon gives alot more strength to the tyre.
2) Tyres have not always been black in colour, In the early 1920's they used to in fact be white, but they cost manufacturers a fortune because they just would not last.
So there's the answer, tyres are specifically made black to tighten themselves, we all know that carbon produces a black colour. Ok if you really wanted different coloured tyres then they could be painted. But what sort of lifespan would this paint have? 7 Days? A Month? 12 Months? In the end if the paint is being spun on the floor at 80mph it is likely to come off in no time what so ever. So if anyone does decide to ask you this. Why are tyres always black? Then you know what to tell them in reply.
