Under Armour heat or cold gear?
I’m in softball and wanted to know what kind of Under Armour should I buy. Protection from the HEAT or the COLD? I want to stay warm, but want to stay cool in the warm weather as well.
I want to only buy one, so will the cold gear (which is supposed to keep me warm) keep me COOL too?
Buy both, they are nothing even remotely close to each other, and they are well worth the expense.
The cold gear is great for early spring and late fall games. I also play softball and it allows for excellent mobility. I have a cold gear long sleeve shirt which has a nice collar that keeps wind from blowing down the chest. I also wear the under armour “tights” under my uniform pants. You could wear thermal underwear instead, but if you get wet, it’s going to be nasty. The “tights” as I call them, look like full length bicycle pants, but they are thicker and material designed to play sports in. With the under armour cold gear, it really keeps you dry and warm.
In the summer, I always wear heat gear – only a short sleeve shirt under my uniform. I will not play without it. It keeps my body drier, especially under the armpits, chest and lower back. I have some teammates who prefer the long sleeve heat gear, as it also provides sun block protection of the entire arm, but I prefer the short sleeve and sunscreen.
If you were to wear heat gear in the cold, you will not be any warmer because of it, however, if you wear cold gear in the heat, you will be roasting. I’ve played some tournaments that have begun real early in morning when it was cold out, and then as it warmed up later in the day, switched shirts from cold gear to heat gear and removed the “tights”.
