It all started with a plain simple approach to make a superior T-shirt. The founder Kevin Plank was a football player with the University of Maryland who tried making something like this as he was tired of changing his t-shirts after every 15 minutes when he plays. He made a T-shirt using moisture-wicking fabric for athletic performance and that’s how Under Armour compressioncame into existence.
It is the official outfitter for the football programs of University of Utah, Boston College, Temple University, Auburn University, University of Delaware and many more. The company was founded in January 1996 and ever since then it has shown wide expansion in its products. From apparels to shoes, from basketball to volleyball, the company has always kept the requirements of sports persons in mind and have developed the best of the products for them.
The clothing line is also the primary sponsor of the Under Armour All-America Game, an all-star game with the nation’s top high-school football players. In 2008, an agreement was signed for Under Armour to supply the full range of technical performance apparel for the Welsh rugby union team. In June 2009, the brand created a test team of Europe’s best amateur and semi-professional footballers to promote the launch of their football boots in Europe. In the same year, it has become the outfitter of the football team Pumas C.U. from the UNAM. For the 2010 season of the Primera Division de México, Deportivo Toluca will become the first Mexican soccer clubs to wear Under Armour uniforms.
